Homeland Surveillance and Electronics (HSE) is a family and Veteran owned, American-based full-service provider of industrial unmanned aircraft. As one of the original pioneers of the commercial drone industry (est. 2009), we take that future very seriously and are honored to provide exceptional service to our customers around the world. HSE started in 2009, shortly after Dale King retired from the Illinois State Police, when his best friend since 4th grade, Dave Sanders, called him with an idea about getting into the emerging “drone” business. Dave shared an article stating that it would be a 25 billion dollar industry by 2020, and convinced Dale to go into business with him. Dave’s expertise in software engineering, and efficiency-tech was a perfect compliment to Dale’s military, police and protection tenure. Both Dale and Dave agreed that they wanted to provide cutting-edge technology to first responders and military; protecting those who protect us. They agreed to start the business and began researching many different manufacturers to identify the best products for their purposes. Once they identified the manufacturer and were licensed and registered, they participated in formal manufacturer product knowledge class and officially opened the doors of Homeland Surveillance & Electronics, which would later be known across the globe as “HSE”.

After a a very short time, Dave asked his brother Terry to join the company. Terry was a seasoned web-developer and had a great passion for sales… an important missing piece of the pie. Terry developed HSE’s first website and it started getting attention and inbound customer leads… a lot of leads. quickly climbed the Google ladder ranking it within the top 10% of websites about industrial drones. To this day, is a trusted resource for shoppers around the world. Given the sudden growth, the three of them were overwhelmed with customer interest and sales that they recruited Dave’s children, Bryan and Joye Sanders, to join the team. Both Joye and Bryan had spent their careers with global financial institutions as operations and sales managers, respectively.

In 2017, Bryan Sanders was named President and continues to lead the company today from HSE's West Coast office in beautiful Seattle, WA.
